Holly King Red Wool Capelet

This is an adult size, red wool capelet made from heavy weight wool fabric and machine embroidered with a green and red holly design that frames golden antlers and a central sun. 

This pattern was inspired by the story of the Holly King, and the cycle of waxing and waning of his power through the coldest months of the year. It features a mirrored holly pattern on both front pieces, and a single, large holly design on the back that encircles the crown of antlers and central sun.

Both the capelet and embroidery patterns were designed and sewn by me. The capelet features a tapered hem that lengthens towards the back, a large hood, finished interior seams with hand-sewn label, and a metal clasp that has been hand sewn to the front.

Length from shoulder to front edge: Approx. 12”

Length from shoulder to back edge: Approx. 21”

Care instructions: Hand wash with cold water. Lay flat to dry on top of towel or other absorbent material. Fabric has been pre-washed however dyes may still bleed slightly.
