Celestial Black Wool Capelet in Gold (Flawed)

This is an adult size, black wool capelet made from heavy weight wool fabric and machine embroidered with a gold celestial moon and sun pattern.

NOTE: I intended to sew this pattern with mirrored leaves on the back, however my machine was not set up right and as a result the back right leaf is sewn in the same direction as the left one (see above images). I only noticed it once the capelet was fully completed, and instead of just getting rid of it, I have decided to offer it at a reduced price. I hope it resonates with someone as it’s own unique piece of art, despite its imperfections. :)

If you know me, you know I like moons! I love painting the sky and nighttime scenes, so I thought it would be fun to put a bit of the sky and the wilds onto something you can wear. As a result, this capelet was born! I decided to embroider this celestial moon design in gold, as an added bit of elegance to suit any glittering aesthetic. It features a large central moon and sun on the back, surrounded by the moon phases, branching leaves, and distant stars that twinkle throughout the design. Two smaller designs with mirrored moons and leaf branches frame the front of the capelet.

Both the capelet and embroidery patterns were designed and sewn by me. The capelet features a tapered hem that lengthens towards the back, a large hood, finished interior seams with hand-sewn label, and a metal clasp that has been hand sewn to the front.

Length from shoulder to front edge: Approx. 12”

Length from shoulder to back edge: Approx. 21”

Care instructions: Hand wash with cold water. Lay flat to dry on top of towel or other absorbent material. Fabric has been pre-washed however dyes may still bleed slightly.

Material: 60% Wool, 40% Synthetic
